New Jalpaiguri – Lataguri –Gorumara National Park – Gojoldoba - Samsing- Suntalekhola – Rocky Island – Jaldhaka – Bindu – Jhalaong – Jaldapar – Phuntsholing – Jayanti - NJP



Day 01: Arrival at New Jalpaiguri - Lataguri

Arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport, meet & greet, transfer to Lataguri It’s a 2 & half hours drive to Lataguri. On reaching, check into the resort. In the afternoon enjoy the Jungle Safari at Gorumara National park. It is a medium-sized park with grasslands and forests. Gorumra National park primarily known for its population of Indian rhinoceros. The park has been declared as the best among the protected areas in India by the Ministry of Environment and Forests for the year 2009. Most common animals in the area are:

  • One horned Indian rhino
  • Elephant
  • Indian Bison (commonly known as Gaur)
  • Leopards (locally known as Chitabagh)
  • Rock Python
  • Malayan Giant Squirrel and deer

Major bird species seen in Gorumara include Minivets, Pheasants, Hornbills,Woodpeckers, Cuckoos, and cormorants, Orioles, Pigeons and Mynas. During the winter months, migratory birds including the Brahminy duck, Ibis, teals, Stork and other varieties can also be seen here. Other birds include Corporant, Indian Shag, Darter, Egrets, Lesser Adjutant Stork and Lapwing. The night hunters in Gorumara are the Owls and the Nightjars. After this amazing view of Jungle return back to the resort. Overnight, stay at Lataguri.


Day 02: Sightseeing at Samsing, Suntalkhola, Rocky Island, Jaldjaka, Bindu & Jhallong

After breakfast, start to visit the sightseeing spots of Dooars like Samsing which is a beautiful place consist of tea garden and village in Himalayan foothills. It is common among tourists for its tranquil landscape and unpolluted surroundings. The most picturesque tea gardens, hill slopes, meandering streams and rural life of simple village people attracts a large number of tourist to Samsing.


Suntalekhola is a small village and a tourist spot nearly 5 km from Samsing is amazing and holds many varieties of birds and butterflies, Rocky Island situated on the banks of the River Murti is about 2 km from Samsing and is a popular camping site. The view of river and surrounding forests are excellent from Rocky Island but tourist amenities are basic.


Bindu is a valley encircled with hills and Bhutan and India and is the last village of West Bengal beyond which lies Bhutan. The valley is on the banks of river Jaldhaka and the road leading to Bindu itself is an unforgettable experience. All these spots give you an amazing feeling of nature. Besides these, the Bindu Dam, the Jaldhaka Hydel Project and the scenic beauty of the mountains, river and cluster of small settlements makes the journey a soothing and memorable one. After a delightful sightseeing return back by late afternoon. In the evening free to relax or visit the local market place by walk. Overnight stay at Lataguri.


Day 03: Lataguri – New Jalpaiguri via Gajoldoba

Post breakfast, check out and proceed to NJP. On the way visit Gajoldoba. Gajoldoba is a nice place that attract tourist. The reservoir, surrounded by the dense forests, invites a large collection of migratory birds, especially during the winter. The Gajoldoba barrage in itself is an attractive place to spend some leisurely time on the spur with a binocular. One can take a ride with family and friend, in the local fisherman’s boat in the river Teesta, The Baikunthapur forests is also home to a number of wildlife variety. On arrival at NJP tour ends with sweet memories.

Day 04: New Jalpaiguri – Jaldapara

Arrival at NJP, meet & greet, transfer to Jaldapara. Jaldapara National Park situated at the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas. It was declared a sanctuary in 1941 for protection of its great variety flora and fauna. Today, it has the largest population of the Indian one horned rhinoceros in the state; an animal threatened with extinction, and is a Habitat management area. Jaldapara is a paradise for bird watchers. At reaching Jaldapara check in to the resort. After lunch, enjoy the Jungle Safari at Jaldapara National Park (by own). At evening return back to the resort and relax. Overnight stay at Jaldapara. 


Day 05: Jaldapara – Phuntsholing – Jayanti – Jaldapara

Morning enjoy Jungle Safari at Jaldapara National Park . After breakfast proceed towards Phuentsholing (Bhutan). Phuentsholing, also spelled as Phuntsholing is a border town in southern Bhutan. It is a fascinating place where different ethnic groups mingle prominently Indian, Bhutanese and Nepalese. Being the border town, Phuentsholing serves as the convenient entry/exit point for Bhutan and also the important link to visit the Indian state of West Bengal, Sikkim and Assam.


Visit places like crocodile breeding center which is indisputably one of the most popular attractions in the city as you get to see these stealthy and dangerous creatures in real life. Thereafter visit the monastery from where you can get an excellent view of the hills of Bhutan. Thereafter visit to Jayanti. Jayanti which is one of the last destinations in Dooars still untouched by mass tourism. Although the Jayanti River is mostly dry throughout the year, its shores of white pebbles add to the eternal beauty of the place. Evening return back to the resort. Overnight stay at Jaldapara.   


Day 06: Jaldapara – NJP
